Erica’s dance background provided a strong foundation for her yoga studies, although it took years before she took her first yoga class. She first practiced Bikram yoga, known to many for it’s sequence of 26 postures performed in a 110 degree room (with 60% humidity). After 2 years of disciplined practice, she then ventured to Iyengar, Jivamukti, Forrest, and Vinyasa- taking workshops on chakras, asana history. All of these branches helped to prepare her for Ashtanga. This Krishnamachariya lineage is characterized by it connection to movement with breath, and it’s vinyasa between asanas. She received her 200 YTT with intense study of yoga philosophy, ancient text, ayurveda, sanskrit, thai massage, and anatomy. Her teachers have included Amy Santos, Schulyer Grant, Genesh Mohan, Dharma Mitra, to name a few and she is inspired by all of them. Erica teaches in Brooklyn NY, and is currently working on her 500TT.
